Then I installed the latest driver available from the Roland website (the ones for Mac OS X 10.9) and after a reboot the UA-101 came back to life. All of this was done on MacOS Mojave 10.14.2 on a. Nov 21, 2014 Hi, i recently got an Edirol ua 101 usb interface and tried to install it on my Macbook pro (MB986LL/A its 2.8 Ghz dual core, MacOS 10.5.8) but it does. Driver Edirol Ua 25
Driver install goes without problems but after connecting the interface to mac it drops out 'The device could not be found' error.
There is a USB indicator led on the front panel which turns on when usb is connected, however in this case it turns on for a little while when comp is booting and when going to sleep mode otherwise its turns off. I tried every combination of turning on/off and plugging sequences, both ports and different cables.
It might be that the problem is caused by other audio drivers i have installed - Roland MC-808, Yamaha Motif XS and Roland S-606. I removed sp 606 since i dont use it so often recently. I did not want to remove the others just because it takes time to set it all up again but mainly because i don't feel that this is a driver conflict problem. All instruments mentioned above work properly in Logic and Ableton without any problems on the computer and don't conflict with each other.
Please help. Im simply out of ideas what else to try

Hey visaoglu,
I understand that you are trying to use your 3rd Party sound card or MIDI device, but can't find the drivers. I can help you with getting that working.
Typically with 3rd party MIDI devices, you don't need any drivers for a Mac as they are plug in play. What you will need to do is run the MIDI setup app that is already on your Mac and it will walk you through how to get you setup with this device. Take a look at the first article below for more details on this.

You also have the option to select the input for any type of recording that you might need to do and that is done in System Preferences. Take a look at the article below for more details.
